Site launch, and three numbers the internet has wrong
Hyperliquid Academy goes live with a data layer that reads the fee schedule and the live API on every build. Along the way we found three widely repeated figures that no longer match the exchange.
Hyperliquid Academy is live. The premise is narrow and, we think, useful: no number on this site is typed into a page by hand. Fee tiers, staking discounts, margin tiers, funding constants and every market figure come from one data layer that is rebuilt from the published documentation and the exchange’s public API, and every page carries the date it was checked.
Building that layer surfaced three figures that are repeated across most Hyperliquid coverage and no longer match the exchange.
Maximum leverage is 40x, not 50x
Read from the exchange’s own market metadata, the highest leverage available is 40x, and it applies to BTC alone. ETH allows 25x, SOL and XRP 20x, and the large majority of markets sit at 3x to 10x. The published margin tiers also step BTC down to 20x above $150M of notional, so even the headline number is conditional on position size.

Deposits are no longer Arbitrum-only
Nearly every walkthrough still says to bridge USDC to Arbitrum first. Arbitrum works and remains convenient, but the deposit window now accepts USDC from Ethereum, Base and Polygon as well, plus native BTC from Bitcoin, ETH and ENA from Ethereum, several Solana assets, MON from Monad, XPL from Plasma, AVAX from Avalanche and ZEC from Zcash. Non-USDC deposits arrive as spot holdings and have to be sold before they can back a perpetual position, which is the part worth knowing in advance.
You can log in with an email address
There is now an email login that sends a six-digit code and creates a wallet for you, with no extension and no signature step. Guides that describe a wallet as mandatory are describing an older onboarding flow.
